He holds a Series 66 license as well as life, health, & accident insurance licenses in multiple states. John served as a member of Ed Slott’s Elite IRA Advisory Group for over 15 years. His certifications include Society of Certified Senior Advisors, Advanced IRA Rollover and Distribution Expert, and Senior Tax Eliminator. He received the Integrity award from Next Financial in 2009. John has been featured multiple times on The Wall Street Journal, The Platinum Record and Registered Rep Magazine, The Greater Baton Rouge Business Report, The Advocate, and City Social magazine.

Karen, mother of 3, raised her children with her loving husband, John, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She has a degree in Occupational Therapy and worked as an OT in the EBRP school system for ten years. Karen was a vital component in the startup of JCN and is now Chief Financial Officer for the company.
Now she is everyone’s favorite person…on payday!
Lyen has ten years of experience in management services. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. As President of JCN Financial, she is responsible for comprehensive management of the business, managing the staff, and maintaining working relationships with over 200 clients. Lyen has extensive experience within clerical services specific to the implementation of distributions, Roth conversion, and tax planning. She assists in both compliance and accounts payable departments as well. Lyen's B.A. in management (with a concentration in the supply chain) from Southern University serves as a strong foundation for her current position. She is currently pursuing her master's in finance from the University of Louisiana Lafayette.

Alex Bernal, MSC, MS, CMT, CFTe
Alex is the chief architect behind the firm's core investment strategies and risk
management systems. Alex Bernal has over a decade of industry experience in the equity, commodity, currency, interest rate, and derivatives markets. Alex holds two separate master's degrees: Masters in Data Science from Syracuse University & Masters in Financial Engineering from World Quant University. He also holds both the Certified Financial Technician (CFTe ®) and the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designations, in addition to a Bachelor’s Degree in Global Economics from the University of Southern California. Alex started his career at the Beverly Hills branch of Bear Stearns & Co. in the wealth management division. In 2007, he moved to the M&N Trading, LLC, proprietary interest rates desk, where he specialized in statistical arbitrage strategies in areas such as global yield curve spreads, Basis arb, and STIR futures. Prior to joining JCN, Alex established Obsidian Quantitative, LLC, a boutique R&D technology firm specializing in Quantitative Research, Data Science, and software development.

Lizzie is an adept professional in customer service and operations for JCN. With many years on our team, she is currently preparing for the Series 65 license which, will provide her with the proper qualifications to provide investing and general financial advice to our clients. She is a very dedicated and resilient individual involved in our day to day operations and overall customer experience. With over 15 years of experience in the customer service area and her ability to communicate in English and Spanish, she provides us with the opportunity to build better relationships with our clients and an edge over our competitors.

Olivia was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She is a graduate of Louisiana State University, where she studied biology and business administration. In addition to leading the marketing team, she is also our college funding consultant, web developer and manager, video editor for the John Neyland Show, and co-host of JCN’s Tidbits Series. Olivia is studying for the Series 65 exam with plans to become a financial advisor at JCN.
A Baton Rouge native, Bobby attended Runnels School, where he graduated with his good friend and JCN's own Olivia Neyland. After graduating, Bobby attended Southern University, where he was the starting catcher on the baseball team. After leading the Jags to a conference title and an NCAA regional, he wanted to do something meaningful with his life that was also enjoyable. Developing a love for economics and personal finance, he decided that his true passion in life would be to serve others in financial planning and economic growth. Bobby serves as public relations officer, assisting with public outreach, digital marketing campaigns, and media production. He is also working toward his Series 65 license. With tremendous gratitude, he works for a firm that operates with a high level of commitment and integrity, such as JCN Financial.
